Based on the existing series of tower cranes, a new generation of modular cranes (MC) tower cranes that use general-purpose mechanisms are being developed (Fig. 1). The drive mechanisms and metal structures of these tower cranes are all composed of general-purpose units (modules), and can be used to assemble a large number of practical models of various working ranges, lifting heights, and boom forms according to different use objects and conditions of use, and to make assembly parts. The production volume has been cut in half. The first batch of modular tower cranes (beam booms) were developed with a total of 60 modules (the formerly produced tower cranes had 138 similar assembly units).
