Methods The data of human resources of two centers for disease control and prevention in Jingzhou were collected in 2009, the summary statistics were made by Excel2003, and the descriptive statistics were analyzed by using SPSS13.0. Results The municipal disease prevention and control institutions at two levels of disease control and prevention institutions accounted for 62.14% of the total employees in the age group of 35-55. Postgraduates only accounted for 0.72%, bachelor’s degree accounted for 20.83%. The ratio of senior, middle and junior titles was 1.28: 5.65: 3.07. The proportion of administrative staff on duty was 74.82% and 25.88% respectively. Among the senior professional titles and the bachelor’s degree and above, 78.13% and 54.62% of municipal employees respectively, and 21.88% and 45.38% of county (city) CDCs respectively.
