在20世纪的中国文学中,散文创作取得了令人瞩目的成就,这已是不争的事实。而与散文创作繁荣的态势相比,20世纪的散文理论批评却一直处于较为尴尬的境地。换言之,它一直处于“断裂中的痛苦与困惑”之中。要使散文研究、散文批评在新的世纪有所作为、有所突破和有所跨越,其关键在于要对以往的散文研究进行实事求是、恰如其分的梳理和总结;要强化学科研究的规范,建立以当代意识为基点的散文理论批评视野,同时更要敢于破除各种既定的散文观念和模式,大胆引进现代的批评概念和方法,以寻找散文研究中新的立足点和生长点。
