龙须草(Eulaliopsis binata)亦称蓑草、拟金茅,禾本科。主要分布于我国华中、西南、陕西、台湾等地。龙须草抗逆性强、产量高、寿命长、易繁殖、生命力强、病虫害少,包装、贮藏、运输方便;其纤维长、纤维素含量高、韧度大、拉力强,是造纸、人造棉和人造丝的优质原料。四川省巫山县的科技人员于1985年开始在本县早阳乡采集野生龙须草种子,然后分别在大溪、曲尺、朝阳、南陵、官渡和坪南等乡进行了龙须草人
