军事和空间技术的要求促进了微光电视技术的发展。微光图像实时处理技术是微光夜视技术今后发展的方向。该文给出了实现实时图像处理的离散余弦变换编码系统框图及性能参数,并讨论了离散余弦变换系统在微光夜视系统中的应用,为微光电视的实时图像处理及图像编码的进一步研究打下了基础。同时也为实现目标探测识别、跟踪的实时性、智能化和微型化,从而为研制新一代战术侦察与火控系统提供出具体有效的技术基础。
