After a 12-year jouey of legislation, Chinas new corporate bankruptcy law - Law of the Peoples Republic of China on Enterprise Bankruptcy - was finally passed in late August. It will take effect from June 2007 and will put an end to policy bankruptcy for State-owned enterprises (SOEs) at the end of 2008.
