杂种优势是生物界中的一种普遍现象。我国自育成和推广杂交水稻以来,1976—1982年,全国杂交水稻累计播种面积4亿多亩,增产粮食400多亿斤,平均每亩一般比其他水稻良种增产一百斤以上。 水稻杂种优势的利用中,强优杂交组合和适宜生态环境及正确栽培措施的结合,使我国水稻品种日产量水平(按全生育期平均,每日每亩能够达到的经济产量)又有了新的提高,突破了优良矮秆品种日产量8.5—9.0斤的水平,达到10—11斤。1979年江苏邳县艾山西大队种植杂交水稻南优2号1.197亩,
