Based on the preliminary analysis of the following tests and experiments, we explore the flow characteristics of the critical single-slope channel, that is, the prismatic channel. The cross-section of this channel has such a shape that it produces a critical flow rate for any value of the corresponding flow rate for a given bank slope, S_o = S_c.
