A comprehensive petrophysical analysis of cores in the L-III layer of the Mumbai high oil field was conducted to determine various logging and reservoir parameters and establish the relationship between them. It is found that the established parameters and their intrinsic relationships are quite different from the values normally used for the formation evaluation of well logs. L-III carbonate reservoirs were re-evaluated by interpreting well logging data with newly established parameters. As a result, the estimated reserves increase by 35% over the reserves estimated with the general parameters. Re-estimated reserves are in line with those predicted by the Institute of Pressure.
