In this paper, rabbit subcutaneous injection of cadmium chloride saline induced renal damage, explore the possibility of urease as an early indicator of cadmium-induced renal damage. The results showed that the excretion of ALP, GGT, AAP and TREH increased significantly one week after cadmium treatment, earlier than urinary NAG, LDH, LYS, earlier than proteinuria. Urinary AST increased significantly after 6 weeks of cadmium treatment. There were no significant changes in the activities of above enzymes in the blood. The activities of ALP, GGT, AAP and TREH on the brush border membrane of cadmium group were significantly decreased. The results suggest that in addition to AST, several other urinary enzymes can be used to early detection of cadmium-induced tubular damage, urine derived from the brush border membrane of the renal tubular ALP, GGT, AAP, TREH superior to urinary NAG, LYS and LDH determination .
