2002—2003年的试验结果表明,稻草还田免耕抛栽水稻的生长具有前缓、中快、后稳的特点,与常耕抛秧相比,一般立苗和分蘖盛期分别推迟2 d和8 d,苗峰前10 d生长发育快,全生育期变化不大,成穗率高4.84个百分点,使稻田土壤表土层容重小7.8%,土壤孔隙度和毛管孔隙度分别增加3.98和1.8个百分点,有机质含量较高,有利于改善土壤理化性状。稻草还田能提高免耕抛秧的产量,在简比试验中,稻草还田免耕抛秧比非稻草还田免耕抛秧增产2.10%~2.84%,比常耕抛秧增产3.77%~5.71%;小区对比试验中,稻草还田免耕抛秧比常耕抛秧增产4.75%。
