Through the census, exploration and development of natural sulfur deposits in Poland, valuable information has been obtained on a variety of geological issues, including the formation of natural sulfur deposits and alteration. The natural sulfur deposits in Poland are distributed in the Middle Tropic Tortonian in the northern front of the Carpathians. The Toldenian order is composed of a gypsum-anhydrite layer, but is replaced in some places by sulphate or sour marl lines. Tolden gypsum layer thickness between 12-55 meters, but most of about 30 meters. Gypsum rock at the bottom of the coarse crystalline gypsum, up to dense thin layer of gypsum, part of the brecciated gypsum. The gypsum rock floor is clastic rocks (sand, loose sandstone), as well as marl and calcium deposits; the roof is dense marl clay rock. Natural sulfur deposits are produced in a certain horizon in this series of rocks, and sulfur-bearing sections generally appear
