一“世俗”在中国历史文化语境中,本指一种风俗习尚,在西方历史文化语境中,则是与宗教生活相对的普通人的日常生活,因是之故,所以“世俗化”也就是一个与宗教的神圣性相对的概念。它既指西方基督教发展过程中的一段历史,也指在这个历史过程中的一种文化理念。
In the context of Chinese history and culture, this refers to a kind of customs and habits. In the context of western history and culture, it is the daily life of ordinary people as opposed to religious life. Therefore, “secular” Secularism "is also a concept that is as sacred as religion.
