Human response to drugs and the ability to metabolize drugs vary widely. Some of the differences are obviously determined by genetic factors that determine not only the individual’s reactivity to the drug, but also the rate and ability to absorb, metabolize and excrete the drug, and the ability to form drug derivatives and metabolites in the body that are excreted. In the past 10 years or so, there has emerged a new and emerging science that studies the human body’s relation to the drug response and genetics, called Pharmacogenetics, also known as pharmacological genetics. The study of pharmacogenetics can reveal the genetic basis and biochemical nature of many abnormal drug reactions and guide the rational use of physicians. This not only avoids accidental harm to the patient, but also cleverly tries to reduce the toxicity and improve the curative effect. So drug genetics day
