低压成套开关设备在低压供电系统中负责完成电能的控制、保护、测量、转换和分配。由于低压成套开关设备深入到生产现场、公共场所、居民住宅等地点,可以说凡是使用电气设备的地方都要配备该设备,我国电能的80％左右都是通过低压成套开关设备提供,低压成套开关设备的发展植根于材料工业、低压电器、加工工艺和设备、基础设施建设和人民的生活水平,所以低压成套开关设备的水平从一个侧面反映了一个国家的经济实力与科学技术、生活水平。
