多培体甜菜于六十年代经我国培育成功并用于生产,这一科学成就对我国甜菜糖业的发展起了推动作用。经国家推荐,长春电影制片厂于一九七八年选定拍摄《多倍体甜菜》,由长春电影制片厂和轻工部甜糖业科学研究所共同努力,于同年底写完电影剧本,在一九七九年五月开始正式拍摄。其内容主要反映培育出的多倍体甜菜双丰303,双丰304的过程和在生产上的优良经济效果,为进一步普及多倍体甜菜提供基本技术。影片中由天然多倍体作物
