“21世纪是海洋的世纪,要建设海洋强国,丰富的航海文化是关键的基础和动力。”3月5日,全国政协委员、交通运输部原副部长、中国航海学会理事长徐祖远在接受记者采访时表示,应尽快设立航海史教育学科点,加强并深化航海历史文化研究,塑造人才梯队培育体系。与航海事业打了几十年交道的徐祖远深感,“实现海洋强国战略,急需航海历史文化研究人才支撑和航海文化理念的深入培育。”他认为,
