At the 2000 Downstream Conference held in Dubai at the end of January this year, the Chem Sales Association announced that the world’s ethylene production capacity will increase by 30.8 million tons/year from 1998 to 2004, with the largest increase being North America (7 million tons) and Northeast Asia.
