Objective To investigate the secretion of IL-6 and G-CSF from breast milk mononuclear cells and its immunoprotection against newborn infants. Methods IL ELISA method was used to determine the concentration of IL - 6 in supernatant of mononuclear cells activated by colostrum, transitional milk and peripheral venous blood of 50 healthy women. The levels of G - CSF, CSF) concentration. Results ① Human breast milk mononuclear cells can secrete IL-6 and G-CSF after activation. ② Colostrum mononuclear cells IL -6 secretion was significantly higher than that of the transitional milk (P <0.05). ③ Colostrum, transitional cell mononuclear cells G-CSF secretion of no significant difference (P> 0.05). ④ There was no significant correlation between the levels of IL-6 and G-CSF in breast milk and mother’s blood (P> 0.05). Conclusion IL IL-6 and G-CSF generated from the activation of breast milk mononuclear cells may have immunoprotective effects on neonates
