在爱国主义教育中,人们常常用“儿不嫌母丑”来比喻对祖国的热爱.这话如果仅从儿子对母亲的挚爱感情来理解是有道理的.但是,如果推及到不嫌祖国母亲的贫穷、落后,把穷与丑划了一个等号,我却不敢苟同.丑是指相貌难看;穷则是说贫困.我们的母亲——祖国现在确实还很穷,但却不丑,不仅不丑,而且很美,称得上是举世无双的美人.我想起在兰州黄河桥头看到的那尊巨大的“黄河母亲”塑像,我觉得她就是我们祖国母亲的形象.她没有华丽的服装,珍贵的食物,一副符合中国国情的普通劳动妇女打扮,然而却是很美的,望上一眼就再也忘不了.她那慈祥、坚毅、闪耀着智慧光芒的眼睛,像是在向我们述说着中华民族光辉灿烂的历史文明;她那丰满的乳房,养育了我们地大物博的锦锈河山,而在她那弯曲有力的双臂中搂抱的婴儿,不正是我们56个民族勤劳智慧的儿子吗?!看,我们的母亲多美啊!我们怎能不为她感到自豪,感到骄傲!
