身长116厘米,小小的脑袋,尖尖的吻部,像针一样锋利的牙齿,20厘米长的脖子,66厘米细长的尾巴,形态酷似传说中的尼斯湖怪兽,能轻松潜入水中或浮出水面的凌源潜龙正从1.25亿年前的早白垩世向我们“游来”中国辽西的新发现,让我们见识了一个从未发现过的新物种,而与之相关的热河生物群更令人遐想。本刊特邀主要研究者与发掘者之一的汪筱林博士就此次发现做一介绍,同时,读者将会看到一幅栩栩如生的白垩纪早期的生态景观。
