南北极环境的变迁 大家知道,地球的南北极是一个寒冷、孤寂的世界,只有少数动物能够生存。科学研究证实,处在夏日里24小时阳光照射,冬日里24小时黑夜的地方,是无法长出森林来的。而古植物学家从横贯南极的阿奇纳山高度为2134米、纬度为84度22分的地点发现了化石树干,这是在纬度80度至85度地带上,目前为止发现的惟一的森林踪迹。这说明南极板块曾经有过温暖的气候,过去也不处于极区的位置。
Changes in the Arctic Environment We all know that the Earth’s Arctic is a cold, lonely world, only a small number of animals to survive.
