激光是正在走向实用化的高技术,它是一种通过受激发射而实现的光波放大。它最大的特点是光谱亮度极高,能量高度集中,方向性、单色性、相干性好。激光比普通光强5亿倍,它可以产生千万个大气压力,成百亿度超高温和上万亿伏特的超高电压。在激光的照射下,任何物体和物质都会化作一缕青烟。激光技术则是探索开发各种产生激光的方法以及探索应用激光的特性为人类造福的技术总称。激光技术正式诞生于60年代初,美国首先研制成功了世界上第一台红宝石激光器,1961年我国也研制成功首台国产红宝石激光器。随着激光技术的广泛应用,该技术已被认为是20世纪继量子物理学、无线电技术、原子能技术、半导体技术、电子计算机技术之后的又一重大科学技术新成就。30多年来,激光技术得到突飞猛进的发展,并被广泛应用于工业、农业、医疗、科研以及国防、制造、武器等各个方面。激光技术已成为当今新技术革命的“带头技术”之
Laser is a high technology that is moving towards practicality. It is a kind of light wave amplification realized by stimulated emission. Its biggest feature is the high spectral brightness, high energy concentration, directional, monochromatic, good coherence. The laser is 500 million times more powerful than normal light, producing tens of millions of atmospheres, tens of billions of terahertz and teraflops of ultrahigh voltage. Under the laser light, any object or substance will turn into a ray of smoke.
