积半年点滴余暇,写成三十多件作品,应东邻友人之约举行一次小型展,借它山之石以攻玉也。创作过程中,有心作点探索,但大幅度的变化也难。还是我行我素,只局限于“微调”。作品汇拢起来,果然有些自得,但墨韵不足是一个明显的缺点。想来观众不会因我缺少时间磨墨而加以原谅。这幅《一花开天下春》却是个例外,还有点墨味的。我以为写少字数的作品不易,有索书者用“少写几个字”企望减轻书写者的艰苦劳动,我回答:舞台上“独脚戏”更难演,一招式,一亮相,都让人一览无余,无可矫饰。再说字数少,字形便大,写大字要憋足一口气,再鼓而衰,三鼓而竭,两遍、三遍重复地写,往往达不到好效果,比之写较小的字,这也是一种特殊的难点。
