In the last few years of his life, Marx began to study and excerpt the writings of ancient social history and eastern social history that seemed to have no direct connection with Capital Theory, leaving vast space for study notes. In the 1970s, these notes aroused widespread attention and controversy. Among them, the most prominent question is: Why did Marx excerpt these notes in his later years? Are there any intrinsic links between these notes and Marx's previous theories? What are the implications of the “Notes” on our development of socialism? As Marx Therefore, how to comprehensively and correctly understand Marx's late-age notes and grasp the true thoughts of Marx in his later years has become a mystery. Based on the socialist practice in contemporary China, Jiang Danlin's new book, Reflections on Marx's Late Years, reveals the theme of Marx's reflection in his later years from the perspective of history: to explore the development path of eastern society.
