This article first explores the potential space for China’s continued expansionary fiscal policy under the seemingly widely accepted constraints. Let us tentatively consider the so-called debt-GDP ratio warning threshold of 60% as the ceiling and the basic deficit-GDP ratio of 3% as the enforcement ceiling to examine the continued potential of expansionary fiscal policies.
