Here, “Different Approaches to Estimating Groundwater Flows,” is an article on groundwater resource assessment selected from volume I of the Proceedings of the Eighth International Water Supply Society Conference. Author A. LOHR proposed a combination of hydrological and hydrodynamic methods to study the groundwater flow, which is different from the current traditional research methods and concepts. The authors consider two important phenomena in nature: one is the endless flow of groundwater and the other is the prevalence of inhomogeneities in aquifers, especially in vertical and horizontal permeability. For the convenience of reading, the translator has to add a comment after the translation.
