康有为变法失败,逃亡日本。一天,他应邀参加华侨梁渭家婚礼。婚礼隆重热烈。康有为闹洞房时兴致不减,即席出一趣题,写出“司月二大旦牛住了”八字,请宾客在每个字上加一笔,一竖或者一横,组成一句贺词。众人苦苦思索,未能找到答案。康有为遂让新娘在“司月二大”四字上各加一笔,又让新郎在“旦牛住了”四字上各加一笔。新娘和新郎只得握笔遵命。康有为又让新郎新娘齐声读出,新郎新娘两颊绯红,难于启齿。康有为只好代为朗读,原来这句话是:“同用工夫早生佳子”。
