On April 4, a 20-year-old residential building in Fenghua, Zhejiang Province collapsed comminutedly, killing 1 to 6 wounded. However, all this is not without warning. In fact, the community where the collapsed building lived has lived for 19 years and the housing quality problem has also been reflected for 19 years until the collapse occurred. On the same day, after the 1980s, the urbanization in all parts of China accelerated and a large number of buildings were built intensively. Nowadays many buildings have been built for 20 years and 30 years, and some buildings have entered the “retaliatory cycle”. All localities should conduct a thorough census and thorough investigation of the old buildings under their respective cities to eliminate hidden dangers as soon as possible.
