一、建立中原经济区的必要性与可能性 (一)中原经济区建立的客观必然性中原经济区位于黄河中下游,是中华民族最重要的发源地,历史上对中华民族经济文化发展有过突出贡献,北宋时成为金国政治文化经济中心,形成了繁荣发达的衣业经济基础和往来密切的经济联系。建国后的建设和发展,初步奠定了现代的工商业经济基础。但农业为主体的基本经济特点却仍旧未改。现代经济建设布局对工业中心建设重视不够,没有充分发挥国家重点建设投资和骨干项目的作用及发展配套工业、完善区内工业体系,影响了大型工商业中心城市的建立与发展,降低了区域经济发展中的凝聚功能
