Large-scale harvesting of tropical forests will have far-reaching global consequences. If deforestation continues to remain intact, we are likely to face changes in the climate patterns and the distribution of biodiversity. The sustainability of agriculture and economy depends to a large extent on the understanding of the extent of the degradation of living conditions and on the strategic development that accommodates this degeneration. Two serious consequences of deforestation are the emission of greenhouse gases and the loss of biodiversity.
