我国地大、物博、人口众多,同时又是地震分布很广的国家。人们视地震为洪水猛。一次强烈地震,会在几分钟,乃至几秒钟内就会给人民生命财产和国家经济是改造或巨大的损失。特别是人口稠密的城市、工矿企业、交通干线、水库、电力板纽等重要的地区更甚。因此,在房屋设计和施工中,必须考虑地震的影响,特别强调地震知识在施工中的应用,以减轻和逼勉不必要的损失。地震是一种自然现象。根据原因,可分为“火山地震”、“陷落地震”、激开地震和“构造地震”四种。而我国以“构造地震”发生最多。它是由于地球内部在不停地运动时,内应力不断增加,积蓄了大量能量地下岩层
