More recently, two imaging systems at the United States National Aeronautics Administration have returned images of a higher quality Earth that will have a positive impact on the Earth’s and interplanetary remote sensing programs in the United States. It is expected that the United States will expand the scientific and economic applications of space remote sensing data. The two imaging systems are thematic mappers for Landsat-4 and spacecraft imaging radars. This is the first image sent back by the thematic plotter on land satellite-4!
