四川峨眉山,佛家说它是佛教的圣地,普贤菩萨的道场。道家却说它原本是道教的福地,名第七洞天,乃天皇真人授道之处。两家自唐代起至清初的千余年间,各述史据,占地建庙,都想把对方赶下峨眉山。到了乾隆之时,佛教终于得胜,占据了峨眉山。但道教的神光仍继续闪烁、仙迹犹存,人们仍呼峨眉山为仙山。这些都给峨眉山涂上了一层层玄秘神奇的色彩。古往今来许多崇道信佛的人,骚人墨客,也以能欣赏如画的景物和精美的宗教文物为一大乐事。峨眉山的道佛历史及现状如何,笔者带着探索问题的心情,最近漫游了一次峨眉山。
