[半夏]半夏俗名麻芋子,川、貴、湘、鄂等省又有土名“三步跳”。多生于麦田或空地中。夏天莖高七八寸,頂生二至三片椭圓形叶,根部結圓球形顆粒即是半夏。挖掘时間:以立夏后到芒种为最宜,俗称为“伏子”。立秋到白露、秋分时所採的俗称为“秋子”诶窗胂暮?將泥土去淨,勿沾生水,即堆放于屋內干燥的土地上,使其水份与皮層脫离,才易洗脫粗皮。洗时將半夏置籮筐中于流水上冲洗,以脚穿新草鞋踩去粗皮(踩时在脚上抹些桐油或生姜汁以免中毒),或用木棒束草杵洗,亦有用麻布袋裝着揑去粗皮。洗净粗皮后,即薄攤于烈日下晒,或以無烟火炕干。洗白后最忌受潮,若受潮即起麻黑斑点,影响質量,品質以粒圓大、色白为佳。品質規格:粒圓,大小不等,独苗独子的为半夏。附生有子的,不是半夏,俗名狗爪半夏,別名小南星。
