近年来,沿河县黄土乡特色、商贸、工矿、旅游四业并举,着力打造黔东北名乡。黄土乡位于沿河土家族自治县城西北部73公里,全乡总面积168.3平方公里,境内最高海拔1392米,最低海拔451米,属于典型的喀斯特地貌、中亚热带季风气候地区。境内生物、水能、矿产等自然资源十分丰富,仅生物资源就达1000多种。有黑叶猴、大鲵、小灵猫、猕猴和银杏、黄杉、杜仲、香果树等国家重点保护的珍稀动植物37种之多。

Loess Township is located 73 kilometers northwest of the Tujia Autonomous County along the river, the township, a total area of 168.3 square kilometers, the highest altitude of 1392 meters, the lowest elevation of 451 meters, is a typical karst landform, subtropical monsoon climate area. Domestic biological, hydropower, mineral and other natural resources are very rich, only biological resources reached more than 1000 kinds. There are 37 species of rare animals and plants that are under the state's key protection such as the black langurs, big raccoon dogs, small civet cats, macaques, ginkgo biloba, eucalyptus, eucommia and incense fruit trees.
