闽东南沿海是我国东南沿海强震活动区之一,历史上曾发生过多次破坏性强震,现今弱震活动频繁。区域地质构造控制地貌格局,新构造运动在老构造的基础上,为继承性的断裂差异活动,与地震关系密切。
The coastal area of southeastern Fujian is one of the strong seismic activity areas along the southeast coast of China. There have been many destructive strong earthquakes in history, and the frequent occurrence of weak earthquakes nowadays. The regional geologic structure controls the geomorphic pattern. Neotectonic movement is an inherited fracture-difference activity on the basis of the old structure and is closely related to the earthquake.
