据科技部中国科技信息研究所1999年10月公布的统计数据表明,该所1998年共收录了《上海环境科学》在1996和1997两年内发表的338篇论文,其中被1286种科技论文统计源刊(包含该刊)共计引用了105次。 经计算得该刊1998年的影响因子为0.311,较之1997年的0.191提高了62.8％;在1998年的1286种统计源刊中名列第164位,较之1997年上升了182位;在1998年的29种环境类学科的统计源刊中名列第8位,较之1997年提高了3位。
