近年来,北京市崇文区绿化美化工作以“三个代表”重要思想为指导,全面贯彻党中央、国务院对北京生态环境建设的指示精神,按照市委市政府和首都绿化委员会对“十五”期间绿化美化工作的部署,在区委区政府的直接领导下,坚持以发展为主题,以危旧房改造和拆违建绿为龙头,以创办“绿色奥运”为动力,以建设高标准园林城区为目标,积极落实“绿色奥运—2008”生态环境建设行动计划,实施以大工程带动大发展战略,加大了万米大绿地、公园绿地、道路绿地及居住小区、单位庭院绿化建设力度,全面完成市政府、首都绿化委员会确定的各项任务,实现了新世纪全区绿化美化建设的良好开局,全区的环境建设取得了跨越式发展。
