[British Journal of Cast Iron Trade, July 1982] According to the latest report from Japan, the test of a three-cylinder four-stroke diesel engine made of ceramic material on a sedan was successful. The engine displacement of 2820cc, its cylinder liner, cylinder head, valve lifter, piston top and some other high temperature parts are made of silicon nitride sintered at 1700 ~ 1800 ℃ temperature. Rocker arm assembly, valve and push rod ends are ceramic. Replace the cylinder block with ceramic material to reduce the weight of the machine by 12kg. As the ceramic material can withstand 1200 ~ 1500 ℃ high temperature, so you can cancel the water cooling system, fans and oil
