富察明义的《题红楼梦》诗二十首是研究《红楼梦》成书的重要参考资料。但因明义的生年存在争议,以致于组诗的创作时间也难有定论。目前学界关于明义生年的“乾隆五年左右”、“乾隆三到六年之间”及“不早于乾隆十年”这三种说法在立论依据和推论过程中都存在问题。从明义《和晴村〈题绿烟琐窗集〉韵》可知,明义年长于晴村(庆霖),经考证,庆霖生于乾隆二年(1937),所以,明义的生年当不晚于乾隆二年。
