Although the transgenic rice has obtained the safety certificate issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, it has not been approved for commercial cultivation. There is more talk in the community about the illegal GM rice that has been brought to the market. Whether supporting or disregarding GMOs, consumers need to understand the current GM transgene status of rice. Consumer Reports reported in November on the detection of GMO content in nine packaged rice products on the market. The results showed that one of the samples of Hubei rice contained “insect-resistant Bt63 transgenic rice”. According to the previous testing of rice genetically modified parties, genetically modified rice is likely to have quietly flowed into the consumer’s meal
