青春期是青少年生长发育过程中一个特殊阶段,是以性器官逐渐发育成熟为标志、开始具有生殖能力、出现第二性征的年龄阶段。男孩进入青春期较女孩晚1-2年。青春期是人生中最具活力,身心变化最突出的时期,也是青少年身体机能、运动素质以及心理智能等可塑性最强的阶段。因此,了解并掌握青春期的生长发育特点,结合科学的手段和方法来进行客观的测量和综合的评定,是做好选材工作的关键,也是使选材走向真正科学的第一步。
