摩托罗拉公司1928年由Paul Galvin创立于美国芝加哥,最初名为“加尔文制造公司”,30年代生产“Motorola”牌汽车收音机,取其词意为“移动之声”,1947年更为现名。50年代,已在军事、空间和商用通信方面领先,并建立了半导体生产厂,60年代进入国际市场,在无线电通信和半导体产品方面逐渐雄居全球领先地位。在其总销售量中,无线通信设备约占58%,半导体器件占31%,余为有线通信、电子控制设备和计算机。1994年销售额为222亿美元,纯利润为15.6亿美元,在全球10大通信生产商中排名第二,雇用21个国家的10万员工,位居全美头50家大工业公司之列。
Motorola was founded in 1928 by Paul Galvin in Chicago, USA. Initially, it was named “Calvin Manufacturing Company”. In the 30s, it produced the “Motorola” car radio, which was taken as “the voice of mobile” and was now known as 1947. In the 1950s, he led the military, space and commercial communications, established a semiconductor manufacturing plant, entered the international market in the 1960s, and gradually became a global leader in radio communications and semiconductor products. Among its total sales, wireless communication equipment accounts for about 58%, semiconductor devices account for 31%, and the rest are wired communication, electronic control equipment and computers. With sales of US$22.2 billion in 1994 and net profit of US$1.56 billion, it ranked second among the top 10 communications manufacturers in the world. It employs 100,000 employees in 21 countries and ranks among the top 50 largest industrial companies in the United States.
