海口罐头厂始建于1942年,是一个有53年历史的国有老厂,在计划经济时代,曾有过一度的辉煌,但自1981～1985年连续5年累计亏损,当时的资产只有720万元,差2万元就要亏空家底,企业濒临破产。 在这危难之际,被称为“海南一杰”的王光兴同志奉命担任厂长,他毅然进行大刀阔斧的改革,通过9年的“敢改革、动真格”、“善决策,严管理”。使海口罐头厂发生了翻天覆地的变化,取得了令人瞩目的业绩。
