语言的分量有多重?《父母必读》:在描述儿童发展的研究和测试中,语言往往是其中重要的一个成分。也就是说,儿童的语言能力,被认为是儿童智力发展水平的一个重要方面。那么,语言对于儿童的心理发展究竟有多重要呢?陈萍:语言的作用一般来说可以分为两方面:一方面,语言是人际交往的工具,另一方面,语言是思维的工具。作为人际交往的工具,语言可以帮助儿童建立起与其他人的社会关系。在儿童从“生物人”发展成复杂的“社会人”的过程中,语言起着非常重要的作用。另一方面,语言由于其抽象概括的特点,是思维(尤其是抽象逻辑思维)的主要工具。一旦掌握好这个工具,思维的广阔性,条理性以及逻辑性都会得到提高。正是因为掌握了语言,人类的思维才能达到现在这样的高度。对于发展中的儿童来说,语言能力的发展也在其思维发展过程中起

Chen Ping: The function of language can be generally divided into two aspects: on the one hand, language is a tool for interpersonal communication; on the other hand, language is a tool for thinking. As a tool for interpersonal communication, language helps children build social relationships with others. Language plays a very important role in the development of children from “bio-people” to complex “social people.” On the other hand, language is the main tool of thinking (especially abstract logic thinking) due to its abstract characterization. Once you have a good grasp of this tool, your thinking is broad, systematic, and logical. It is because of the mastery of language that humanity’s thinking can reach the present height.
