李贞同志是我军历史上唯一的女将军。她1908年2月出生在湖南浏阳县一个农民家庭,1927年加入中国共产党、参加毛泽东领导的秋收起义,从此,开始了漫长的军旅生涯。第一次国内革命战争时期,她转战在湘赣边区,负责湘赣省妇女工作。长征途中她任红六军团组织部长和红二方面军组织部副部长。抗日战争时期,她随八路军第120师驰骋在抗日前线,后调任八路军妇女学校校长。解放战争时期,她参加了保卫大西北的战斗。1950年初,任西北野战军政治部秘书长。抗美援朝战争爆发后,随中国人民志愿军赴朝作
Comrade Li Zhen is the only general woman in our army’s history. Born in February 1908 in a peasant family in Liuyang County, Hunan Province, she joined the Chinese Communist Party in 1927 and took part in the Autumn Harvest Uprising led by Mao Zedong. Since then, she has started a long military career. During the first Revolutionary Civil War, she fought in the border areas of Hunan and Jiangxi and took charge of women’s work in Hunan and Jiangxi provinces. During her long march, she served as secretary of the Sixth Corps of the Sixth Army Corps and vice minister of the Second Front Army Organization Department. During the War of Resistance against Japan, she took the 120th Division of the Eighth Route Army and took the lead in the anti-Japanese front. Later, she was transferred to the president of the Eighth Route Army Women’s School. During the war of liberation, she participated in the battle to defend the northwest.
