The European Science Foundation (ESF) is a consortium of 49 member research councils and academies of science that includes 18 nations and is headquartered in Strasbourg. The mission of the ESF is to bring European scientists together to carry out research projects of common interest, to coordinate the use of valuable equipment and to identify and identify new research projects that can benefit from cooperation. ESF's work includes the fields of natural sciences, medicine and biology, and humanities and social sciences.
