In the White House’s three-story building, the U.S. president and the White House reporters have always maintained a delicate relationship. Washington Post commentator Kurtz said: President Clinton did not understand how to deal with the press. If journalists are very friendly today and sharply criticize him the next day, he will feel deceived. Last September, Clinton invited White House reporters to a luncheon held at the White House South Lawn. Originally a informal gathering Clinton wanted to meet with reporters, it turned into a clash between Clinton and the White House reporters. At the time, the White House reporter at the “Business Daily” asked Clinton: “When are you going to hold the next official press conference?”
