本文论证和简述了光盘(videodisc)系统技术的几个主要方面。详细介绍了两个激光系统的操作、可靠性、存贮容量和应用。这两个系统是:(1)用于“影片”发行和各种辅助教学的日用光盘;(2)用于数字和图象存贮的高密度存贮数字光盘。数字光盘的多用性,就在于它能使大量参考文献资料藏书数字化,并能用图象处理能源文献的全文。光盘的研制和应用是对社会有深远影响的技术之一。它也是美国占优势的现代主要日用电子仪器之一。随着这个领域的进展,情报存贮和检索的新方法学必将发展起来。
This article demonstrates and outlines several key aspects of the videodisc system technology. Details the operation, reliability, storage capacity and application of the two laser systems. The two systems are: (1) daily-use discs for “film distribution” and various assistive teaching; and (2) high-density storage of digital discs for digital and image storage. The versatility of digital optical discs lies in its ability to digitize large collections of reference material and to image the full text of energy literature. The development and application of compact discs is one of the technologies that have a profound impact on society. It is also one of the dominant modern day-to-day electronic devices in the United States. As the field progresses, new methodologies for the storage and retrieval of information are bound to develop.
